Resident Evil 4's gameplay is more accessible than previous installments'. A dedicated knife button allows close-quarters combat without an inventory visit, reinforcing a faster pace of action. Context-sensitive controls and quick-time events help create a cinematic feel which, at the time, set the series' benchmark.
